Educational Mission:   

Every Rotarian is an example to our youth.  Rotarians must have a part in developing the youth of today to be leaders of tomorrow.

Why sponsor a youth organization?

Earlyact Club:
A service club for elementary students to teach them the four-way test and how to live their lives by the four-way test. Approximately twenty-five students in the Millinium and Brookwood schools will complete age appropriate international, community and local service projects.
 
Interact Club:
A service club for high school students to provide opportunity for young people to work together in a world of fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding.  The goals of the program are noteworthy:  to recognize and develop constructive leadership and personal integrity; to encourage and practice thoughtfulness of and helpfulness to others; to create an awareness of the importance of home and family; to build respect for the rights of others, based on recognition of the worth of each individual; to emphasize acceptance of individual responsibility as the basis of personal success, community improvement, and group achievement.
Third Grade Dictionary Project:
Prepare for and deliver cases of dictionaries to the following schools—Churchill, Flossmoor Hills, Heather Hill, Hickorybend, Infant Jesus of Prague, Longwood, Serena Hills, St. Joseph, & Western Ave
 
High School Dictionary Project:
Prepare and deliver classroom sets of dictionaries to Bremen, Tinley Park, Hillcrest and Oak Forest High Schools.
 
Job 1:
This program was created by the Rotary Club of Chicago in 2003.  The program provides job readiness training and summer jobs to high school students.  Job 1 was created to deliver a significant community value and to engage club members.
 
RYLA: 
Rotary Youth Leadership Activities— High school students from        Hillcrest and Homewood-Flossmoor High Schools participate in a leadership weekend activity.

You can support the Homewood Rotary Organization in achieving its mission by participating in one of the following  objectives?
 
Co-Leading an Early Act Club—Teach them the four-way test.  Attend one meeting a month for the school year.  Learn about the club activities and  report them to our organization.
 
Co-Sponsoring the Interact Club of Hillcrest High School—Assist them in forming a new club.  Attend one meeting a month.
 
Participate in the third grade and Hillcrest High School dictionary project distribution.
 
Co-Sponsor a Job 1 session by talking about your career or work as a business owner at Bremen, Tinley Park, Hillcrest, Homewood-Flossmoor or Oak Forest High Schools.
