Michael joined The
Rotary Club of Homewood in 1990. Since he
became a member, Michael has chaired numerous
positions in his Rotary Club. In 2000, he and
District Governor Brian Anderson traveled to
Mendoza, Argentina to tour a Matching Grant
Project sponsored by Michael’s club. In
2000-2001, he had the honor of serving as
President of the Homewood Rotary Club. His year
as President can be summed up in one word –
phenomenal! Michael’s quote
“the more I learn about Rotary, the more I
love Rotary” is spoken from the heart, and
is heard throughout the Rotary World.
His Club’s
achievement earned a proclamation from the
Illinois State Senate and a Resolution for the
Illinois House of Representatives. Michael’s
leadership enhanced The Rotary Club of Homewood
Foundation when he served as President for two
terms. An Annual Giving Program was created
during his tenure as Foundation President, and
has greatly provided additional funding for
projects both locally and worldwide. He has
also been involved, at Club level, on every
project the Club has participated in since 1990.
Michael’s list of
involvement in Committees in the District is
forever growing. He has served as Assistant
Governor, Assistant Governor Coordinator,
Membership Committee, Dental and Medial
Committee, Public Relations Committee, District
Assembly Committee, PETS Committee Chair, and
currently, Michael is the General Chair of the
Land of Lincoln PETS.
Michael was the
2006 recipient of the Cedric Pope "Spirit of
Rotary" Award.
Michael is a
charter member of the Paul Harris Society and a
Benefactor to the Rotary Foundation and the
Bequest Society.
Michael and Tina
Adams, Michael's fiancé are both proud Paul
